Ever inspired by the utilitarian everyday objects of life, Giles has explored the fine geometric lines of chicken wire and elevated it in Faraday velvet, taking the soft, sumptuous pile of the fabric and creating a strong and determined bond through the twists of the thread. The colours delve into the inkwell of Sanderson's ever-evolving palette, but the ground from which the thread springs, with its twisting joints and loose diamond patterns, is resolutely grounded to its wiry origins. The dry cotton velvet lends a matte look for an elevated finish.
