Care & finish
Liberon – waxes, oils and wood finishes
Products for wooden surfaces since 1912.
Liberon was founded in Paris in 1912 by Georges Libéron, who took over a business supplying products to painters and gilders. Its customers were originally professional gilders and cabinetmakers, and that focus still shapes the range today: waxes, oils and products for treating and maintaining wood. The emphasis is on preserving, protecting and bringing out the natural qualities of the wood, whether it is a new piece of furniture or an older object with patina.
The difference between finishes is an important part of the choice. Wax gives a soft lustre and a protective surface layer, while oil penetrates the wood and brings out grain and colour in a different way. The choice of product affects appearance, feel and future maintenance alike. The classic Black Bison wax, developed in the 1950s, is among the house's best-known products.
At Brittfurn you will find Liberon wax, wood oils and wood-finishing products to help you care for dining tables, chests of drawers, cabinets and other wooden furniture. The right treatment can bring new life to worn surfaces, protect against daily wear and help the natural lustre of the wood come through more clearly. The range suits both routine furniture care and more extensive restoration of wooden surfaces.
If you are unsure which product suits your furniture or how it has previously been treated, you are warmly welcome to our showroom in Ă–stermalm, Stockholm. There we will help you choose the right product based on the timber, finish and intended use, so that you get a result that lasts.
”Wood lives longer with the right nourishment.”
