Osborne & Little

Osborne & Little was founded in 1968 by Peter Osborne and his brother-in-law Antony Little, with a shop on King’s Road in Chelsea — at the heart of the London then known as Swinging London. Little was responsible for the design and had already made his name with Biba's black-and-gold logo. The premise was that British pattern design had got stuck, and that there was room for something more imaginative without abandoning tradition. That balance has become the house's signature.

The range of motifs is broad: decorative botanicals, architectural motifs, animals and pure textures sit side by side. What holds them together is a British precision in execution — even the most playful patterns are drawn with control over scale, repeat and colour register. The house works with both printed wallpapers and woven fabrics, making it possible to work consistently throughout a room.

Brittfurn's range includes Osborne & Little wallpapers and Osborne & Little fabrics. The wallpapers are used both throughout and as a feature wall, and the broad register means the same brand can solve both a children's room and a formal dining room.
