With the Alvita fabric, Colefax & Fowler presents a sophisticated, contemporary interpretation of the classic Tree of Life motif. From the elegant Chilgrove collection, the design draws its inspiration from traditional Indienne textiles, where lovely flower heads, rosettes and sweeping foliage wind across the surface in a well-balanced composition. The intricate embroidery gives the design a magnificent depth and a tactile character that catches the light of the room in a very special way.

The natural cotton and linen blend of the base gives the fabric a soft, supple feel with a fine texture, while the subtle lustre of viscose in the stitching brings out the colours. Alvita works superbly for generous curtains with a beautiful drape, but is equally well suited to upholstery on an armchair or as elegant scatter cushions on the sofa. The fabric is offered in two well-judged colourways, Red/Green and Red, both of which add warmth and character. Pair it with plain linens and dark woods for a timeless, continental feel.
