Behind maxjenny is the Swedish designer Maxjenny Forslund, who runs the business from Copenhagen. Her design language moves in the borderland between art and interiors, where graphic shapes, powerful fields of colour and bold compositions give every textile a distinct expression. The result is throws and textiles that work just as well as vivid accents as they do as a natural part of a considered interior.

Colour is the starting point for every collection. Where much Scandinavian design rests on restrained tones, maxjenny works with saturated hues — red, orange, yellow-green and blue — and clear contrasts that bring life and movement to the room. The patterns are drawn by hand and digitised, around twenty per season. The textiles are woven in the Netherlands and production takes place in Sweden, Denmark and Lithuania, which keeps supply chains short and manufacturing transparent.
