Geometric Fabrics

Geometric fabrics — graphic patterns built on repetition and order rather than on nature. Checks, diamond repeats, fans and strict stripes. We carry 23 such fabrics.

A large share comes from Osborne & Little, where there is a clear art deco thread: patterns such as Ruhlmann, Normandie and Ziegfeld are named after the period's designers, ships and stages. They belong to the darker, more high-contrast end of the range — see Urban in the style guide. The rest come from Colefax & Fowler.

Geometrics are rewarding on furniture for a practical reason: a pattern with no obvious up or down can be used to upholster an armchair without anyone having to think about direction, and small, dense repeats hide wear better than large motifs. Prices range from 910 to 2 720 kronor per metre, with the bulk around 2 110, and the abrasion rating is shown on every product page.
