Material; Silk with silk warp. (Silk is produced in the regions around the Caspian Sea, which has a subtropical climate. It is used for pile as well as warp and weft in fine and tightly knotted carpets such as Ghom)
Number of knots: Approximately 850,000 knots per square meter.
Carpets from Ghom are known for their fine quality. Wool, cork wool (the best sheep wool) and natural silk with silk warp are often used, which makes them exclusive and expensive. They are often tightly knotted with Persian knots and have figural, medallion or garden patterns with plant and animal motifs.
